For the past several months, I have been posting tips about how to use WordPress here on the WP-StepByStep website. I hope it has been valuable for at least a few people, teaching them how to use the most popular web publishing system around. Now, though, we are going to take a little twist, still heading in the same direction, but taking a little different path in that direction!
I am going to be joined by another writer here. This is a person who has used WordPress a bit in the past, but is not all that familiar with the software, but intends to learn. That person is my son, Aaron.
Aaron has been writing on another one of my websites, the Live in the Philippines Web Magazine from time to time over the past couple of years. Now, though, Aaron is ready to really learn how WordPress works, and the ins and outs of publishing his own site. So, he will soon be starting on publishing a personal blog. Along that journey of publishing his own site, he will undoubtedly learn things about WordPress. He will also, I am sure, from time to time be stumped and not be able to figure out how to do something on WordPress. In either circumstance, he will write articles here about his successes and his yet-to-be-successes using WordPress. When he posts something that he cannot yet figure out, I will step in and publish an explanation on how to do what he wants to accomplish.
Aaron is 16 years old, and just graduated from High School last week. He is a smart kid with a lot of computer know-how, so I expect that most of what he tries to do with WordPress will not be difficult for him to accomplish. However, seeing WordPress through new eyes, the eyes of a beginner is not something that is easy, or even possible for me to do, because I have been using WordPress for a decade now, and I rarely get stumped when trying to publish with WordPress. So, using Aaron’s experience will allow me to approach this site through a fresh pair of eyes and a different skill set than I have. I think it will be good for this site, and also good for my son.
So, prepare yourselves for a bit of a WordPress adventure! I hope we can address some issues that you have been looking for on this site. If there are things about WordPress that you have been waiting to see here, please let us know by leaving a comment below!
Welcome to the site, Aaron!
